Is there a way we can allocate an SMF dataset of 10.000 cylinders?
If there is no way to allocate such a dataset, how do you suggest to
deal with this problem?
Standard VSAM has a limit of 2GB.
With an extended format file you can go to 4GB times the CI-size (4K in SMF's case).
Or, you can allocate more of them at 2GB.
Or, dump more frequently.
