I wrote something to a R/W DVD a while ago and now I can't erase it.
Nothing is locked. The recorder says it is erasing, but when it is
finished the menu still appears and the recording still plays.

We aren't talking about a lot of money here. I will probably just throw
it away, but I really would like to know what is going on. The
recording was made exactly the same way I make all my recordings. I
have never run into this before.

Yes, I know the feeling. If you have 2 different recorders, should one
erase a disc on the recorder that made it, or on the recorder you intend to
re-record on?
