I installed a copy of DVD43. It seemed to be successfully copying a

blank DVD didn't have enough space. I was using a standard DVD-r with

GB. Do they make larger discs? Am I missing something?
DVD43 only take away the DVD protection so you can copy/ripp
it to your harddrive.
If the orginal disc is over 4.6Gb large then you have to burn the
copy onto a DVD+R DL (8.5Gb) disc .
Or you can shrink the ripped DVD with DVD Shrink,
so it fits onto a DVD+R (4.7Gb) disc.

There's another possibility: Divide the movie and put it on 2 separate
discs. Is there any freeware that will work this way?

I have never done this, but it should be possible to reauthor a disk using
DVD Shrink.
My preferred method of copying a disk is to use 1-Click DVD Pro, which
allows me to copy the entrie disk, or just the movie portion. Some of the
choices allow you to compress the file so it fits onto a regular-size DVD-r.
I haven't noticed any real problem or loss of quality with the compression,
but I suppose there is some.
