True, but it didn't help Betamax ultimately, nor did it help the Sega
Dreamcast. Plus, it doesn't help to release a product that is less than
finished. Firmware upgrades are nice, but that's something people are used
to doing for PCs, not consumer electronics.
Personally, I think studio support will be a much larger factor in deciding
the winner; although that doesn't exclude HD DVD from winning, since
studios are fickle.
