Re: Can DVD Player be Fixed?

Hi, I have a Samsung DVD player that was working perfectly well until
all of a sudden after loading a movie, it read "No Disc" or something
like that, indicating it "couldn't see the disc".

Is there any way of fixing this problem? (I suspect that the laser is
mis-aligned, but don't know what to do about it -- short of hitting the
box on its side with a hammer -- lightly, of course.)

Any other suggestions?

A good way to tell if the laser has sagged out of calibration or if
it is just dust, is to turn the player over once the disc is loaded
and see if it works. If it does, gravity has become your enemy.

BTW, on multi-disc changers, only load one disc for this test. The
other test is to blow it out good with a dust can via the disc door.
