new recorded dvd won't play - too full!!!!

Help - I accidentally put too much stuff on a dvd-rw. Got message "cannot
record - no space left". Is there anyway I can salvage this. Thanks
Sony rdr-vx515 dvd recorder and sony dvd-rw discs.
