What, this useless group is so important that it contains no info on
CES. OMG, I am so surprised. A huge convention changing the world of
electronics from cells to notebooks and beyond and no one cares. Not
surprising..... Unless you can name call and throw shit and argue
over it!
No CES info because no one cares. YAWN....
CES is crowded, a few new things, the partys are ok.
I am a CES veteran. I have done about ten of them over the years, workin
Teamsters 631. I have had a lot of experiences of all types conventions.
It is one LONG f'n ten days.
What is it that the complainer wants to know? Are we, the unwashed rabbl
that is not invited to the behind the ropes parties, supposed to know of
inner working and intricacies of this show? Of course not. Go buy an
electronics store and hire 50 people and go to the convention yourself.
I will tell you some of the most memorable conventions: NBAA (National
Business Aviation Association), HomeBuilders, Shot Show, SEMA, World Trav
Convention (RCI and such), and many others that the average Joe would sta
a chance of infiltrating/crashing, and getting in on some fine food and
entertainment and deals with just a business card.
CES probably will go the way of COMDEX. Not enough new stuff every year,
just repeats, and they are already in the store.
But, hey YO MAN! WTF is the average person in this group SUPPOSED to kno
about CES, of which you protest so loudly? If you're so gung ho, get a
false business card, take a bath, put on your best sneakers and a tie, an
go out there and dig for the gold yourself.
And don't come around here complaining that no one has dug gold for you.
Sheesh.
Steve
I went to CES this year. Went every year since it started. There was
more people there the first day but it got less crowded day 2 and 3
and by Friday there was almost no one there. It was not as exciting
this year because there was not to many new things. I liked the new
big TVs and saw a lot of new light laptop computers. Not many new
phones. Microsoft say they wont be back next year so it will be
smaller next year and because the AVN was not the same week going by
the Venetian was not near as much fun as it was in the past. I dont
know what that Don guy was bitchin about but it seems like hes got a
real hardon to try and kill this group off. What kind of information
was he looking for?
Well thanks. I appreciate the info. You say it's not too late to go to
Vegas!!
I remember they used to have a hamfest the same time frame.
One year I had to stay at buffalo bills a couple days. No rooms.
Greg
