Didn't Reid help complete City Center and probably save MGM from
bankruptcy by makin' a few "calls"? That's gotta have saved a ton of
jobs and prevented a host of foreclosures in Vegas not to mention
another half-built skeleton of a casino/hotel on the Strip like
Echelon & The Fountainbleu!
Gosh, if it's that easy, Reid should have just "made a few calls" on
behalf of
Echelon and Fontainebleau. Vegas would be booming by now, for sure!
"Saved jobs" are a guess at best. There's no reliable way to measure
what employers
_might_ have done under an alternate, hypothetical set of circumstances.
When a
politician says "we created or saved" millions of jobs, that's just
nonsense. Unless
he's talking about government jobs, which are not the kind we need.
Good, now we can finally raise taxes on people making over $250k a year,
since there can be no proof of jobs saved by the Bush tax cuts.
All we have is proof of the millions of jobs lost during the Bush tax
cuts
for rich people era........
OMr. Toad,
Ready for another wild ride I see...............
Simply you are blaming Bush for all our woes ... just wondering ....
Is it a "Bush messed up my life " issue ? , or ' a tax fairness' thing
with you ? ... ( rich vs. us)
Its a Wall Street thing. If you had read any of my other responses you
would already know this.
As for tax cuts for billionaires and millionaires during wartime, well, the
fact is that the cuts and the wars caused a budget surplus to become a
trillion dollar deficit. I don't like deficts. I don't like useless wars.
And I don't like the Great Recession which was partly caused by the polcies
of Bush. And those tax cuts were in place when we lost 3 million jobs in a
matter of months.
In 2000, it was Bush vs. Gore ... assume that Gore had won ... do you
think that things would be fine now ? ( I didn't like either - could have
flipped a coin as far as I was concerned)
I voted for Harry Browne.
Things wouldn't be as bad if Gore had won, but there are bigger trends at
play here that politics of any kind is unable to deal with, like the
inevitable decline of a mature economy such as the US, the rise of China and
other Asian nations, and the out of control risk taking of a Wall St gone
berserk.
O
DAYUM,
You hit the nail right on the head, IMHO,
The changing economy is such an issue. Our gov't spending money
like a drunken sailor, our Socialist Great Leader, its scary!! We are
spending money we will not have for generations.
D!
