Calling for Mrs. Baf after her work Saturday the usual
question is "What's on the agenda tonight"? It was just
after 5 pm the Primarily Primr Rib at the South Point was
just opening, a quick call to them resulted in no reservations
available till 9 pm, so reservations were made for 7 pm
Sunday.
During the week I received a gift card for $34 from the furniture
company where we purchased some new livingroom furniture
after moving to Henderson. At the time you joint their club
for I believe for $66 and all delivery is free for one year.
I didn't read the fine type, but they have a 2% rebate on
your purchase issued every 6 months. Well with the
rebate gift card and about $6 we bought a wireless Viao
wireless mouse for Mrs. Bafs new laptop. The whole purpose
of the last two paragraphs is that we had a chance to
see one of those new large flat screen 3D sets. It was
outstanding. We have a 35" analog with the big picture tube,
it works very good, so I didn't see the need to update to
a high definition flat screen yet. The temptation was there
and it's a good thing we left the store when we did.
Well anyways we dinner at Barley's Casino near Sunset
and Mountain Vista. We ate there some time ago on a
2/1 and the meal wasn't bad. I ordered the Rubin & Mrs.
Baf had the Fish & Chips, I also had a big micro brew
Amber ale. The dinner was good, but I'm still waiting
for that outstanding Rubin somewhere. The bill came to
$25.37 including one $3.99 salad bar. We lost $12.50 on
video poker.
Recently the South Point sent out seperate mailers
to Mrs. Baf & I. Each month for three months a different
restaurant is featured with a 2/1 and $15 free play is
preloaded for each month.
That's the reason for Primarly Prime Rib tonight. Last
time we were disappointed with the Cowboy Cut ($19.95),
which is very large, but so was the bone in it. This time
we ordered the Blackened Cajun South Point Cut ($15.95).
no bone, It was outstanding and very lean for prime rib.
The biggest surprise was the Hot Spinach & Cheese
Dip ($5.95) The crackers you use for dipping are
about 4 inches in diameter and sort of like matza with
sesame seeds. It was wonderful, be sure to try this!
The total came to $27.46, even cheaper than Barley's.
Gaming wise the first $15 free play netted $10 on
the poker machines and the second $15 free play
netted $12.50 on the Wheel of Misfortune. We also
won $20 playing blackjack. After the tip for the
dinner we had an enjoyable time for free.
