Not to be too cynical, but I think a lot of those experts need to sell
articles and books and earn research grants etc.
by coming up with all sorts of scary predictions. I think this stuff
just goes in repeating cycles, and that will never change.
Lake Mead for example, was lower in 1967 then it is now. Taking into
consideration how much more water is being drawn now than then, the
situation 43 years ago had to have been much much worse than what we
have now.
