Re: Flip is a Las Vega local!

Yep. GF's died Monday and we took it in for a charge. They said it was dead but after we charged it, it seems to being running ok.

We priced a new one----$85--yikes! Hers is less than two years old.

Everything you said was correct, Baf. Replaced wiper blades last year--already dead.

Been lucky on tires, but I think Wallmart or Sams is the best place to get them.

As of Oct 1, I will be a Las Vegas local!

Hey flip,

Some casual things for me in Vegas that are different
from my old town of Pittsburgh, PA.

In Pittsburgh when your car battery is dying it gives you
warning. In Vegas you turn your car off, two minutes
later you get in the car and the battery is completely
dead. I'm on my third battery in 5 years.

A 72 month warranty is useless when you are stranded
miles away and late at night from the place you bought
it. Join AAA, when they jump you and tell you that
your battery is shot, they have a whole truck load of
batteries with them. Two years later when you are
stranded and call them again, again your battery
is shot, presto, you pull out the warranty.

Tires separate all the time or need repair,
use a good tire dealer like Discount Tire
or their warranty/guarantee and free tire repair
which you will need.

Your mail box will be filled with repair deals and cheap
oil change coupons, beware of most offers, especially
Purrfect Auto Repair, many of these places unrepair
your auto, even some of the big joints like Pep Boys.

You never use your wiper blades here, but they fall
apart in two years.

Maybe some of the locals can recommend a good place
for honest car service and repairs.
I COULD USE HELP ON THAT.

One third of the drivers are drunk, one third are
vacationers who are lost, one third have no
license or insurance, one third will hit and
run, one third will run red lights, one third of the
autos are big SUV's, one third are Mercedes,
one third are pickup trucks, one third are
unsafe junkers, one third are monster trucks
6 feet off the ground with 8 inch tail pipes,
one third of the California license plates
are expired.
