Sorry folks, I don't know anything about this and don't usually read the
threads that are on topic b/c I don't gamble. But, boyfriend has it in his
mind that if he's gambling and playing cards he's going to get free food and
free drinks. True? Does he need to buy a player's club card? All I know
to do (from y'all) is tell him to play at the downtown casinos where the
odds are better.
Thanks for helping!

Free drinks while playing is the norm in virtually every casino. Free
food is not. He should definitely obtain a players card (you don't buy
them. They just give them to you). They use the card to track your play
and from that may come other freebies depending on the level of play.
However, he should never play for the comps. Don't let the freebies
affect how you play. It's also easy to lose a bunch of money waiting for the
cocktail waitress to return with that "free" drink.
