I was in a discussion with someone about home A/C.
He claimed you use less energy if you are not home all day to shut
your A/C off until you come home.
I claimed that you would use less energy by just lowering the A/C temp
and leaving the A/C on all day.
Any comments from LV locals?
I'm an ex-local, but I still live in the high desert. I go with the
later, as it keeps the house cool all day, and you don't need to
dedicate an entire hour to bringing down the temp from hot to cool. I
usually keep my thermometer set at around 70 degrees Fahrenheit or
so. That helps too. Of course, if you have solar panels and are also
attached to a grid, you get paid to use electricity.

Move to the UK and you won't have to worry about a/c but you will need
central heating!
