The most interesting thing I found was a 750ml bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label for $199.99. The JW Red label was around $15-$20, the JW Black Label a little more. Does anyone know the JW Blue Label is so expensive? I looked (didn't dare touch!) at the bottle to see if it said it was a really old blend, but I couldn't see anything.

Simple explanation: Red Label is made for red staters; the poor, uneducated folk too dumb to accumulate wealth. The Blue Label is made for Blue Staters; the educated, well off monied elite who can afford to throw money around like its confetti. There's actually no difference in quality; just status.

Being Blue rocks.

OR

Hang around the liquor store and follow anyone who buys the Blue Label home. Keep and eye on their trash can, and when the empty Blue Label bottle is discarded, you can grab it and fill it with the Red Label. Nobody will know the difference and you can let folk think you're a liquor gourmet. I do that here with gin and vodka. My friends all think I really go all out when offering them a drink, but I've reused the same bottles for the past 28 years or so. <just kidding>

For upscale people, I suggest placing a McCain/Palin sticker on the Mercedes so you don't upset your neighbors, customers and friends, then vote your conscience. <grin>

Some folk say that Southern good old boys
aren’t too smart. To that, let me remind you
that anyone who builds a city 10’ BELOW sea level
and fills it with Democrats can’t be too dumb.
