Re: 1st Time going to Vegas

If you can go on weekdays (Sunday night through Thursday night) as
opposed to Friday night and Saturday night, rates will be 25% to 50%
cheaper and you'll get a lot more for your money. Also because of
conventions, if you can go a week earlier or later you also may find big
differences in rates from week to week.

I'd check prices for TI and Monte Carlo first and if you can't find a
time period that fits your budget, try another time period. If you've
tried all the possible time periods and the prices are still too high
for your budget, you might try the Flamingo, Harrah's, Bally's,
Excalibur or the Luxor.

If these are still too much, you might then try the Orleans just off the
strip or the Gold Coast.

If you are definitely going on a weekend, you alos might try the Hilton
as often their weekend rates are no higher than their weekday rates
becasue they cater to conventions which are mostly held weekdays.
ALthough not on the strip, there is a convenient Monorail stop at the
Hilton which takes you to and from many places on the strip.

On the other hand if you can afford more than TI or Monte Carlo prices,
I'd check the Mirage, MGM, Planet Hollywood,.or Paris.
