It is quite amazing that you know exactly what this "veteran" thinks

Michael, it is one thing to make up going to fantasy dinners and
events. It may even be understandable that you fantasize a girlfriend
because of your loneliness but just making up imaginary friends on a
whim is a sure sign that you cannot tell reality from fantasy. Seek
help immediately, Michael.
