Hold a single high card.
Hold two high cards, and if not suited, throw away a third one.
Hold three suited high cards, which in THIS case would include a ten.
Full pay JOB (jacks or better): Look at the pay schedule for one coin. A
full pay machine will pay 9 units for a full house and 6 units for a
flush, thus 9/6. These machines are getting harder to find, and to tell
the truth, most of the time I end up playing 8/5 machines, especially at
VP bartops where the pay schedule is traditionally the worst.

9/6 JACKS OR BETTER STRATEGY CARD
Below is a proper basic strategy chart for a video poker machine with
a minimum payout for a pair of Jacks or Better which pays 9 coins for
a full house and 6 coins for a flush.

5 0 Flush
3 2 3 of a Kind
5 0 Straight
4 1 4 Card Straight Flush - open both ends
4 1 Two Pairs
4 1 4 Card Straight Flush - inside draw
2 3 Pair of Jacks, Queens, Kings or Aces
3 2 3 Card Royal
4 1 4 Card Flush
4 1 Ten, Jack, Queen and King any suit
2 3 Low Pair - Two through Ten
4 1 4 Card Straight - sequential order
3 2 3 Card Straight Flush - sequential order
4 1 4 Card Straight - non sequential order
3 2 3 Card Straight Flush - non sequential order
2 3 2 Card Royal
4 1 4 Card Straight - non sequential - 3 high cards
3 2 3 High Cards - Ten through Ace
2 3 2 High Cards - Ten through Ace

and to think that i have considered paying money for those cards. how
else would you play it? at least i know that i've been losing $$$ at
vp correctly all this time.
question: how do you know which machines are full pay? does it say
that?
i'm going to vegas memorial day....didn't realize that monday was
memorial day until this morning. i will be there until friday and
would love to meet up for a drink if anyone is going to be there at
that time

i understand about the 9/6 units but i was wondering if it listed
somewhere which machines e.g. paid back 96% or whatever the machines
were set at. i know about looking for the # of units if it hits, but
if it will hit or not is my question.
i went to an indian casino a couple of weeks ago in MS. i thought that
it would be regulated by the state gaming commission. i found out that
the choctaw have their own commission. i found bartop 9/6 vp at the
silver star and played and played (and drank beer after beer, which
was the only consolation) these machines were as tight as i have ever
played. i believe it was set very tight and maybe i just had bad luck.
needless to say, i won't be visiting the Pearl River Resort any time
soon!
