You do not have permission to reprint from this site (not that that
would stop you).
Matt
You found that link on his wikipedia page, didn't you? Harrumph,
complaining about reprint permission, then copying from wikipedia.
No, Matt I am very familar with your tales of Stupak's "nearly free"
vacations. I remember the ads very well from all the cheap magazines
of the late 80's and early 90's. I wish I had experienced the rooms,
buffet and bar like you. Well, at least I got to go there and
experience the "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" atmosphere.
Your stories are national treasures of a declining (but by no means
gone) milleau.
As Matt can tell you, the rooms were really something. My wife & I did one
of the trips which cost us $198 per person for 4 days and 3 nights. We got,
IIRC, $400 in casino chips, win or lose, $600 in slot play, a "free" gift
(was later appraised at a high end jewelry store at home for around $1000
but I think they made a mistake) and all the booze you could drink even if
you weren't playing. Just walk up to a bar and show the card. Never been
so drunk for so long in all my life. After all the $1000 in play given, we
actually made money, not counting the gift.
The room that I was in had silver wall paper with rockets and spaceships
adorning the ceiling. I don't think this room was one-of-a-kind either. We
were there in the mid '80s.
