That's one of the reasons I don't like it. The Tamares/Barrick logo
didn't have a Gold Spike either. It's as though they are trying to
abstract the name.
Which is what MGM and Harrah's have done to a lot of places. Like they
are trying to abstract the name Luxor so it doesn't mean Egyptian
pyramid, Treasure Island became TI so it no longer meant pirates, and
the Wynn is just an abstract name to begin with. All of the new
nightclubs have these lame abstractnames, and the MGM ones often have
two words crammed together, like playbar.

The Tamares/Barrick logo does have a gold spike; they use it for the
"i" in "Spike". That's what is shows on their website anyway:
