determined to add more. We drove off and decided to check out Arizona
Charlie's. We had planned on staying there, and almost booked the room. It
was $50 for Saturday night and $25 for Sunday and Monday. The price was
unbeatable, but I just wasn't sure it was going to be a nice place. I
thought it might be kind of old-school (meaning beat-up) like Ellis Island,
so I hesitated in booking the rooms. Well, when I went to book the room the
rice had jumped from $50 to $87, and I just couldn't bring myself into
booking it then. Anyway I digress. We arrived at AC and I was shocked to see
such a nice looking place to stay. We could have parked our car right in
front of our room and then walked just a few yards to the casino - as
opposed to parking in a parking garage and walking roughly 12 acres to get
to the casino, then walking another 50 yards past slots, tourists, and
time-share people. RATS!
Stayed there 2 weeks ago, liked the room. We had a king suite. Looked
freshly painted, no obvious bodily fluids on the carpets or bedding,
bed was comfortable. Only complaint was the exhaust fan in the
bathroom, which sounded like a jet plane taking off. Unplugging the
fan took care of that. Drive to the strip down Flamingo didn't take
more than about 10 minutes. Their slot club card also gets you a $3.29
steak/eggs or ham/eggs in the coffee shop, which is actually edible.
The $1.77 strawberry shortcake is also recommended, although it is a
bit light on the strawberry and heavy on the shortcake.
