You were in (J)ROTC. And they didn't let you anywhere near a real gun.

And as I recall, they only let him participate in the JUNIOR ROTC for
one year before kicking him out. Seems he couldn't make the weight
requirements. Anyway, he was deeply involved in computers and teaching
others how to use computers in the 60's and early 70's when the rest
of us didn't even DREAM that we might some day be using computers. Old
Mikey was WAY ahead of his time. My understanding is he was so far
ahead of everyone else that he invented lying without lying, being
married without being married, meeting Presidents "and actually having
conversations with FIVE of them." joining the Peace Corp but getting
sick and having to recuperate in Isreal where he met and became a
confidant of Ben Gureon himself, starting Windows but deciding that
DOS was a better system, being the Godfather to seven children
(shooting blanks or ED?), and being able to retire from a business
that he allows his nephrew to run while he reaps untold millions in
money that he uses to rent $500 apartments that he really never
intends to inhabit but just uses Craiglist to PRETEND he wants one for
some as yet unexplained reason.
