Having done Europe many times I'm not sure my first choice would be a
month in Paris. The 'good' news is that most Parisians will be on
vacation. Euro kids get 6 weeks summer holiday that is about last 2
weeks of July and all of August. Accomadations can be tough in many
places. To see the best of Europe you have to rent a car and go places
the trains can't reach. I'd drive to Southern Germany and do the
German, Austrian and Italian Alps maybe a few days at Lake Garda in
North Italy.
In Paris you'll need some basic French. Claim you're Canadian as
Americans are despised. Expect high prices for everything.
Driving in major cities can be nerve racking as parking can be non
existant and you can have trams to deal with. I prefer the more rural
areas where you can enjoy the wine and relax. Cities worldwide are
mostly the same with people too busy to help you.
