Very true, Ace. I too lived in Vegas in the Lakes. Great place to
live, but I really didn't enjoy living in Vegas too much. It's very
transient, very compulsory, hot and it lacked a sense of culture. If
you are from where I am from, there is so much culture you practically
drown in it out here.

Abq has a sense of histoy found in very few other Southwestern cities. We're spoiled.

Ace, the thing about Vegas is that it seems to attract burnouts and
the lowest of the low. Lowlifes from all over the planet move there
as their last hurrah.

Vegas also attracts "surface" people as residents. Everything is appearance, no depth. Few people live in a particular house more than a few years before moving somewhere else in town or out of the area. When they live in those houses, many don't maintain them, and their house deteriorates.

In Abq we live in a well maintained apartment built in 1950, and it's been kept in great shape by a series of apartment owners. Pride of ownership by the current owner and by the tenants is apparent.

I don't think I could ever move back to Vegas, but there are really
nice places to live out there. If I ever do decide to leave Burque,
it would probably be for Santa Barbara or San Diego.

Friends of mine like SD, but he's retiring after 20 years in Federal civil service, and I don't know if they're going to stay there or not.
