Nevada Death costs

Mrs. Nonnymus and I had always been fairly prepared when it came to estate planning. Having lived in several states over the years and having children to protect, we used legal advice to create estate plans that would both insure our children had a financially secure upbringing and would reduce the amount of taxes paid upon our death.
When we moved here, we didn't immediately contact an estate planning attorney or change our wills and trusts, since we wanted to first become established in the state and to decide whether to remain here or possibly return to a previous home. When we finally got around to doing some estate planning for Nevada, I was absolutely shocked at how expensive it would have been had either of us died without conforming our estate to Nevada requirements.
David, Marsha L, and others who live in Nevada, if you have not visited with an estate planning attorney, I strongly urge you to do so. With a Family Trust and some simple maneuvering, you can eliminate Probate, which costs approximately 9% alone, and also the incredibly high Nevada estate taxes. BTW, this is good advice for anyone else living in any other state.
