I've got a friend at work who is going to LV around the first of May
and said they got real good prices at the Aladdin so they booked
there. I told him that I wondered if they got good rates because of
construction for Planet Hollywood. Now he's a little freaked because
a couple of years ago he stayed someplace with construction going on
nearby and he said they worked all night and he didn't get much sleep
the whole time. Guess it was a pretty miserable trip.
Anyone have any idea where they are on the construction at Aladdin or
if they are about done? He and his wife are driving so they aren't
locked into that with a package deal or anything. He can cancel and
go someplace else. But like most of us, he's looking for the nicest
place he can for the money.

By May they ought to have gotten pretty far, but a couple of weeks ago
the front was a total mess essentially without a front entry except
throught the mall. The casino is a nightmare, in my opinion, and the
overhead music has to have been chosen by a 16 year old on crack. My
wife and I could hardly wait to get out of the place. That being said,
I'm sure the rooms are still okay, and since prior to the sale the
rooms were some of the nicest in the mid-level range hotel/casinos,
your friend can't go wrong unless he likes to spend time in the
casino.
