Re: I've booked a $7,000 a night room downtown

The only negative is the beer is low point alcohol.

I had a somewhat similar situation...Last fall I went down to the corner
quick shop and bought a couple of 30 packs of beer. It was Sunday morning
and I had friends coming over to watch football. I put the beer plus two
bags of ice on the counter. The clerk told me the price was $41 and some
change. No problem...I handed her my debit card and she ran it through
the
machine. Did I for get to mention that there was about 10 people in line
behind me? Anyway, she swiped my card and shortly thereafter she told me
my
card was declined. I told that there must be some mistake because I had
just
been paid two days before and that I had plenty of money in my checking
account. The clerk thought I was full of *** and said "Sure, you've got
plenty of money." The people in line behind me were getting impatient and
becoming vocal to my protests that there was some mistake. One guy in
line
called me a "dead beat" and a couple of other people laughed at me.
Anyway,
I pulled out my MasterCard and charged the beer and ice to avoid any more
embarrassment.

Thinking that I had been a victim of fraud and my bank account had been
"jackpotted" I quickly drove home and checked my account online. I
checked
my balance and my account had plenty of money. I was puzzled as to why my
card had been declined. I called the bank on Monday morning and told them
what happened. The representative I spoke with told me that my account
was
fine but that a mysterious charge had been ran against my account. The
lady
on the phone told me that the day before (Sunday) my card was ran for
approval on a charge for $4100 which was declined. The dumb ass clerk had
forgot to put the decimal point in the machine when she was trying to
approve my card.

Since my decendents are Irish I thought it might be fitting to do a St
Patricks trip at the Fitzgerald. Last year it was Chinese New Year at
Imperial Palace (wife's Chinese). Instead of charging me $70 they
billed my credit card company $7000!!
That set off a chain of phone calls as they caught it but too late but
the problem was shuffled to the accounting dept. Now my credit card
company is calling wanting approval. It all got ironed out in about 4
hours and it wasn't tough getting them not to lose my business. They
cut my 3 night stay a total of $88 and if you believe the Chinese
lucky number is '8' then this is going to be a 'doubly' lucky trip.
I predict TWO royals in the future.
p.s. I was supposed to be there right now but because *** came up
have bumped it back a week.
