BBQ and Sushi are my passons. Nothing on the strip impresses me as far as
either.
My favorite for BBQ Ribs is Lucilles in Green Valley hands down. It will be
a drive, but well worth it.
Strevel and I tried Dave Famous two weeks ago. I thought it was good but
not sensational. Memphis is OK but not sensational either. Big Mommas is a
better lunch place than it is dinner.
I thought Salt Lick at Red Rock Casino has excellent brisket but not as good
on the ribs.
As you can see I am fussy about my ribs. YMMV.

I know this comes up endlessly but I will be in LV in a couple of
weeks, like ribs and live in a ribless black hole where the nearest
halfway decent rib place is an hour's drive away. What's the best rib
place in LV? I like Tony Roma's but would like to try some place
different. Even most of the chain restaurants would be new to me.
If you really do "like" Tony Roma's, there is probably not much hope
for you, but............
Ribs are a pretty selective issue. Of those available in the valley,
perhaps the best are at Big Mama's. The joint is a dump in a really
bad part of town, but the ribs are really good and some of the sides
are excellent. Not bad chicken either.
For nice places that you can feel comfortable with without having a
sidearm with you, the best is probably Daves, out on the far NW side.
Daves is a chain, but it offers up the 2nd best ribs in town. Order
the garbage can lid combo and just dig in. Chicken, pulled pork,
ribs, cornbread, fries, slaw, a few cold beers.... heaven.
There's a new place WAY down by us on Henderson (can't remember the
name now as my PDA is back in the cabin), but it's now # 3 on my list.
Good food, but not much better than my #4 spot, which is Ellis
Island. What can I say. It's cheap, it's more than edible and it's
cheap, plus the beer is fresh and cold.
Avoid Memphis BBQ like the plague. It just flat SUCKS. Even Tony
Romas has better ribs.
BTW, do you prefer rub, or sauce? One can always tell a rib man by
the answer.
Chuck
This is how I remember Chuck.
He was always helpful and willing to help, while others trolled the
group and ruined it.
I hope the rumors are false that people are trying to hurt him
financially. He is a human being, think about it.
Woe to those that seek to harm Chuck.
