Is it not just GORGEOUS today? I ran errands with the top down on the car...

For those keeping track, the high was 72°, currently it's 68°, 18% humidity.

The mountains were amazing today. I guess it was all the wind.

The weather here is great --- and by great I mean cool in its variability.
For example in the past several weeks I've seen some weird stuff --- was
up on the side of a mountain a couple of weeks or so ago and it went from
bright sun to white out snow storm back to bright sun and 15 degrees
warmer, all in the span of 45 minutes. Then last week, I think it was, I
was driving north on the 15 looking in the side mirror at a snow storm
pounding the Spring Mountains enjoying how the sun was making the falling
snow look. And the wind here --- wild. The first time I noticed how hard
it can blow we were in the Orleans watching the ceiling tiles lift ---
then when we went outside, man it was a shocker. It's not like a hurricane
of course, but definitely very strong at times.
As someone mentioned in this thread it's pretty easy to see that the
weather dudes here use the weather as a hook to the broadcasts --- and boy
the forecasts suck as a result. The "storm" as forecast this week was
going to start early Monday night and go through Wednesday night --- then
Tuesday morning, then rush hour Tuesday --- then maybe Wed night. All of
these forecasts (on 13) went against everything I was seeing on the net,
but it did give the boys the chance to say "tune in for more details".
The other thing about Vegas weather is that the storms from CA seldom make
it over the Hump that Starts in Pahrump --- and that if you halve the POP
(probability of precipitation) you'll be pretty close for the storms
approaching from that direction (99 percent of storms here).
