The increase in prices, coupled to the proliferation of gambling in

The last thing I care about is paying through the kiester for high
priced show tickets: the costs on those have gotten sky-high (yeah,
they can get away with it, more power to them).

I am not a gourmet diner, so the High End restaurants mean naught to
me.

The same casino games and the same quality of table games crew is
available to me less than 100 miles away at tribal casinos which
generously comp me with all the food I want, and all the boxing and
concert tickets I want.

I'm going to Spirit Mountain later today to play for 4 to 6 or so
hours, then drive home.

I'll eat free, they pay me money to show up, there is no need for
lodging expense, and it is cheap to get there (fairly nominal gas
money).

I have three craps tables to choose from, great slots, and all the
carnival games.

The only interest I have in casinos is gambling, and on a cost /
benefit analysis, this mandates the only logical choice: play locally.

So Las Vegas doesn't "work" for me viz. gambling; nor does it muster up
as a vacation destination.

I would be giving up so much in choosing a week long "vacation" in Las
Vegas, as there really is nothing else to do there other than visit the
casinos and their commercial offerings (spare me Lake Mead, already saw
the Grand Canyon).

Contrast a vacation in Las Vegas to others I've taken, such as time in
Montreal and Quebec City; those places have history, and culture, and
offer more and better tourist options than does the neon city in the
desert.

Not as stimulating as Las Vegas, (no bells, tones and manic energy),
but much more interesting, and of greater depth and quality.

Sure, Las Vegas is "attractive," in the way a painted tart with
implants can catch a horn dog's eye, but a lot of that is due to the
ongoing P.R. campaign, the irresistible campaign to burn into the
public consciousness the message that Las Vegas is desirable.

You make a good argument to stay away from Las Vegas Mr V so only
one question: Why the interest in this group ?
