We got stung last week with a bag that was 8 pounds
over the limit <<
If you are traveling with two bags you can just shift some of your
stuff to the lighter bag. We see people do it all the time.
I have a knack for checking Fifty ONE pounds every time. So far they
have never made me pay. ;)
I always carry a really lightweight almost parachute type material
duffle in the front exterior compartment of my suitcase for uh..
Shopping expeditions... and if I ever need to shift stuff, I have an
extra bag to do so to prevent from going over the 50 pound limit. You
have to be prepared for those things you just HAVE to buy when you are
on vacation! ;)
