Don....I'm more than OK with disagreements/debates. What I'm not OK with
are cruel, personal attacks and that is what I meant earlier when I
mentioned hostility. If there is nothing to debate about and everyone is
being kind to each other, then I believe a "boring" newsgroup sure beats out
the other option. While I haven't posted here for all that long, I've
definitely lurked here on and off for a lot of years. I've always preferred
the kinder, gentler side of AVLV. Or for that matter, any newsgroup.

But that's just me. I've now been a participant in the online world for
more than 26 years and can remember the very early days when in my
experience, everyone was kind to each other. Yes, people debated, but you
just didn't see the personal attacks and flame wars that are so prevalent
today. I tended to like things that way. Again, maybe that's just me.
