I'm amused at the wide range of definitions for the term Political
Correctnes. Pay special attention to numbers 1 and 3. An Orwellian
perversion of the language playing out before out very eyes. I happen
to believe definition #2 is not a bad thing.

#1: A trend that wants to make everything fair, equal and just to all
by supressing thought, speech and practice in order to acheive that
goal.

#2: avoidance of expressions or actions that can be perceived to
exclude or marginalize or insult people who are socially disadvantaged
or discriminated against

#3: Political correctness is a term generally used to disparage
efforts to raise awareness about and eliminate social and political
biases in language and other forms of representation. The term also
appears in the adjectival form politically correct (often abbreviated
PC). While it frequently refers to a linguistic phenomenon, it is also
extended to cover political ideology and behavior.

Calling Christmas, Christmas is a choice. If other groups choose not to
recognize it, its OK, but don't deny me the right to celebrate it.

I'm unaware of anyone being denied the right to celebrate Christmas.
Did I miss another memo?

PC started with things like yuppies who felt they were somehow protecting their childeren by not keeping score for their sporting events. It has extended into the language with things like 'native american'. Don't these morons realize that 'indians' call themselves 'indians' in many cases? Check out:

And then we have 'rain forest', it's a fucking JUNGLE, always has been. Or how about 'downsizing' and 'person of size'. It's a lot of silliness under the guise of 'sensitivity'.
