Lawry's -- Truly exceptional prime rib????

Snipped from SpencerDogg's great review of Lawry's:
> Verdict - Best Prime Rib we ever had. Could cut with a fork.

It has been many, many years since I last visited the original Lawry's on La
Cienega's restaurant row in L.A. With that in mind, about two years ago, my
then SO and I decided to give Lawry's Las Vegas location a try.

Disappointingly, we did not have the exceptional experience that everyone
that goes to Lawry's raves about. Don't get me wrong--it was definitely a
good experience with the service being absolutely outstanding. But neither
my SO nor I could rate the prime rib any better than "good" when we were
both hoping and expecting that it would be "exceptional."

I'm not sure I was even expecting "could cut with a fork" tenderness.
Probably good that I wasn't, because our prime rib definitely was not that
tender. Neither was it tough. Again, it was good.

Neither of us talked about it until after we left. Once we did, we both
expressed that the prime rib we had at Lawry's did not seem to be much
better than what we often experienced at chain steakhouses like The Black
Angus--again, good but not exceptional. Did we simply hit it on an off
night?

The best prime rib I remember having in Las Vegas was many years ago when I
went to William B's. I don't remember it being exactly inexpensive, either.
But I do remember it being exceptional.
