Yes, he was. For food. Which is the exact same thing that we do with
cows, chicken, pigs, etc.
There isn't one damned thing wrong with killing an animal to use it as
food (even if it happens to be young and/or cute). Meat doesn't show
up under celophane in the supermarket because a Food Wizard waved a
magic wand to make it appear.
It boggles my mind when I realize that the treehuggers have chosen to
forget one immutable fact: Life feeds on life. If you pick an orange,
you killed a form of life so that your life may continue. Such is the
way of life before, now, and always.
