City of Las Vegas vs. Clark County?

How much influence does the city have on the county?

I wonder how many people who have visited Las Vegas would be shocked to
know that they've never been in Vegas. "I partied down in Cark
County!"

Some Floridians have it easy: The city of Sarasota is in Sarasota
