No, you're not wrong. Just new. For some reason, political discussions
just seem to be a part of this group. Although political discussions are
not ones that I personally choose to partake in, this is an alt. group and
there is no strict, formal charter that must be followed, nor is it
moderated. Some of us (myself included) tend to go off on other tangents in
the midst of threads, but the majority of those threads usually (but not
always) begin with a post that involves Las Vegas.

My best advice would be to either completely skip the political threads, or
just use the "Mark thread as read" option that your newsreader (hopefully)
offers.

Hang around, and I think you will find that there are a lot of good
Vegas-related posts containing great information made by some very friendly
and knowledgeable people.
