This newsgroup must be too busy for most people to read comprehensively
(now there's a word). But sometimes it can give an insight into what it
must feel like to be a ghost -- to carry on a one-sided conversation,
even to jump and shout, with no more effect on the other side than a
faint suspicion of a chill in the air and a glimpse of something odd
just beyond recognition.
Laura asked in Russian Salad "What do Sultanas wear on their heads? I am
currently single-handedly moving the economy out of recession by
spending exorbitant sums on headgear," and one month ago today I
replied, "Fascinators, undoubtedly. Perhaps Modom would like a teensy
preview of our next collection?

My sincere apologies to Laura. When I first started with AUE I read
every post; over the past few years I've had to "mark all read" more
times than I can count, as I fall hopelessly behind. In a few years both
my kids will be in school and I hope to be able to spend more time here
again.
