I find it difficult to believe that you didn't watch _Twin Peaks_.
I may have stumbled across an episode or two while waiting for
something else to come along...without watching any of it, I
learned by osmosis that there was a dwarf who talked backwards, a
woman who carried around a log cradled in her arms, and someone who
was unnaturally impressed by a cup of "damn fine coffee"....r
The giant albino was damn fine too, and so was Shelly. The picture of
her at the linked website gives some indication of how Russians think
"mädchen" is pronounced.

(I wouldn't dare snip so formicable, or even formidable, a URL. The
Url-King would probably get me if I did.)
I very much liked the opening title sequence of /Twin Peaks/, with all
that leisurely saw-doctoring. Oh, and I was at one point impressed,
though not to the point of emulation, by the hero's tartan underpants.
Of Miss Amish I have no recall.
