I don't know from mushrooms in the US, but here in Europe there are a
number of quite unmistakeable edible ones and a number of equally
unmistakeable poisonous ones. In between there are lots which don't
taste particularly good but which won't kill you. All the pharmacist
really needs to do is to say OK to the clearly edible ones, Not OK to
any unidentifiable ones, and Don't touch this with a bargepole and go
and wash your hands! to the poisonous ones.
