You may be interested or horrified to know that a while ago, the
University of North Carolina developed a multi-purpose chicken for
eating young as a Cornish Game Hen, later for roasting or egg-laying.
The three types were raised and fed differently. I had a Japanese
associate who was highly amused to meet one of the developers. She
called him the "Chicken Professor" for years afterwards.

I had someone totally convinced that there was an Ingham chook farm in
Queensland that specialised in breeding boneless chickens for the
Chinese restaurant market.

I don't suppose the Brits here know of the legendary jackalope. Google
images will show you many.

I have heard the name, but I'm unaware of any sightings in Britain.
