That's not at all true, Jan. In my first job in Greece, I was asked by
my bosses to lie to intermediate students and above and tell them that
I was English, and they had 30 years in the business. The vast
majority of Greeks also believe that their broadcast version of CNN is
dominated by American native speakers.

We are not Native Americans, we are American Indians,
the only true Americans in these United States.
It is pointless to make a big fuss over whether they should be called
the one or the other, but I admit I'm surprised to learn that Purl
Girl prefers the older term. Good for her, I say, for not falling for
the more politically correct version.
