Oh, I was. I even ran a mail-order business back when I was in

more than twenty bucks each.
You must be an expert on the Unstoppable Force Meets an
Irresistible Object riddle.
???
Superman was an unstoppable force, as everyone knows, but one of his
enemies, perhaps Luther, erected or proposed an
I-don't-remember-exactly-what, but it was irresistible. When I was a
kid, one of the arguments of the day concerning Superman was what
happens when and if he hits it, full speed.
Did you mean "immovable object"? What you've described sounds like
the old "irresistable force/immovable object" paradox. I had figured
that you were talking about some play on that, but now I'm not so
sure.
Ring a bell?
The paradox, certainly. And I remember people talking about what
would happen if Superman (who was both an irresistable force and an
immovable object back then--apparently not so much now) played one or
the other of the roles. I don't remember it actually showing up in
the comics, but if it happened when you were a kid, it was before my
time. I didn't start collecting until the early '70s, and while I
collected "back", it was mostly Silver Age stuff, so very little
before the early '60s.
