Would you describe the set of exercises? I have back problems
myself, especially after lengthy sessions on a computer.

They were for troubles originating in the cervical spine; yours sound
more like those of the lower back. If not, let me know and I can post
a description of what I did (and still do, when the occasion requires
it).

If so, I have found some relief from lumbar pain in sets of
toe-touching: smooth, sweeping movements, beginning and ending in
upward stretches. Dr. Verma, of the lamented Ottawa Yoga Scientific,
told me once that the best exercise for preventing back pain is to lie
on your back and draw your knees up as far as possible over your
chest, hold for a minute or so, and slowly return the soles of the
feet to the floor. My general principle is to do exercises that you
find make you feel better afterwards.

My routine involves 60 situps each morning, 20 at a spell, and I
toe-touch fairly religiously. Thank you for the other suggestion. I
will try it and report back.

Hamilton Hall, AKA The Back Doctor, a very popular source of such
advice in Canada, says that, if you wait, it will go away by itself;
comforting, in a way, but he can afford to be patient. Another thing
that might help is an Obus Form for your seat at the computer. Those
are about $75 here, so I suppose they would cost the equivalent of GBP
40 or so, where you are (not up on Irish currency).

This is what I was thinking of:

(sorry. tinyurl is acting up). The "Home" button will reveal that
there are dozens more varieties, with different effects and at
different prices.

My chair is adjustable in several ways, as most chairs designed for
computer use are. Should I get one of the above, anyway?
