I've just been doing some shopping therapy, and dropped in at a bookshop
along the way. The bookshop has a display of its 100 top sellers. The
top spots, not too surprisingly, are filled with Harry Potter and the Da
Vinci code. Pride and Prejudice and Tequila Mockingbird are numbers 4
and 5; it probably means that they've been set as high school texts.
The big surprise to me was "The Good News Bible", at position number 20.
That's the clearest news I've yet spotted that religion is making a
comeback in Australia.
That's not good news.
Here's a sign that Australia is not entirely going to the bad. This is from the council notice about a forthcoming verge side collection:
"Please do not place mattresses on the verge until 1 (one) day before collection to reduce the risk of antisocial behaviour."
