If you're ever in Oxford, try "The Pink Giraffe" where they make all
veggie versions of Chinese dishes, including vegetarian "meat". The
veggie beef is my favourite and the veggie duck is an acceptable
substitute for the real thing, although nothing like it.
This is the one thing that bothers me about vegetarianism based on an
abhorrence of eating an animal killed to feed that person. They avoid
meat, but buy products or order dishes that are designed to resemble
meat.
At http://www.lightlife.com/healthyyou.jsp they advertise a product
dog that looks like a hot dog but is made with vegetarian-acceptable
products.
If a person objects to eating a dead animal on a bun, then why does
the person want to pretend they are eating a dead animal on a bun and
look like they are eating a dead animal on a bun?
I've often eaten in the cafeteria at Florida Hospital (A Seventh Day
Adventist facility). Meat is not served in the cafeteria, but many of
the food items are cleverly designed to look like a meat
product...chicken that isn't chicken, sausage that isn't pork,
hamburgers that are not made of beef, etc.
I don't understand this.
