'just such another xxxx' is a fairly, if rather old-fashioned idiom. Mrs Allanby and the young man are being compared to St. Patrick and the wurra-wurra in the way it took a long time and much prompting before they finally came to blows. Without more context I can't decide which was which but the last clause suggests it was the young man who needed to face up to Mrs. A. and, having eventually done so, emerged unscathed. But I might be wrong.
