The vulture eats meat, but does not *proactively* kill the meat it eats. It
does not even indirectly encourage the killing of the antelope, for example
by using the economic power of the dollar. "Retroactively" is not the only
possibility when you are searching for the converse of "proactively".

I do not understand why a vegan would refuse to eat a pheasant that has been
accidentally (and cleanly) killed in a collision with a car. The pheasant
has not been proactively killed for its meat. It would be perfectly moral
for a vegan to eat such meat, I would have thought.
