By "vegan" I take it you mean 100% vegetarian, unlike your S.O., who

She doesn't eat anything that involves the death of any animal. That
seems a very reasonable ethical postion to me, and worthy of respect,
although it's not one I personally share.

But...but...did you have any problem with my use of "100% vegetarian,"
as that was the whole point of this thread?
