WNYC's transmitter. If _that_ wasn't enough to get you to donate, what
on earth could it take?
I remember the US public radio appeals for money being more irritating
than the advertisements on the commercial stations.
Irritating? Yes, and I tend not to listen much during pledge-drive weeks. But at least they're not trying to make me buy a whole bunch of stuff I don't need.
One thing I liked about WNYC was the shortening of the pledge-drive period if a certain target was met before that period started.
I do donate, but usually in my own good time near the end of the year. Here in Michigan, half the amount donated comes back in the form of a State tax credit anyway.
