Yes, really.
How do you define "common"? And why do you say "common British English"? Do
you assert that it's common here but not elsewhere?
I dislike the noun "researches" in the same way that I dislike "trainings",
and I don't believe that either is "common British English".

I define common as either happening often or existing in large numbers
or in many places.
Training has no plural because it's in plural already. Oh, you dislike
the noun 'researches' but it does exist and it's used especially in
BrE,,,
